I’m back to drawing and I’ve never felt so alive! I got a new sketchbook and I can’t wait to fill it up with masterpieces like this one. (wkwk) She’s wearing everything peach- which I really like because of the color pink. As much as I knew that Inktober is here, I don’t have ink so I can’t participate for this year.
Well, there’s always next year and that time I will be prepared.
As far as I’m loving the anime right now and I’m completely happy that it’s continuing onto a new arc. Not to mention, when there’s a new arc, there’s gonna be a new op. I can’t wait to cry even more and be more thrilled to watch it! ~\(≧▽≦)/~
In my sketchbook, I wanted the last section should be all about the anime My Hero Academia. I intended to make it nice and warm because the collage I made was just a sight to see And I wanted this section to be filled out more characters from the anime/manga. Like I said, I adore his artwork and I really wish to see him and understand what’s it like to be a mangaka. I know a little on how it can be difficult to adjust your time and not to mention, time-consuming. The artwork must be nicely drawn and the details must be precisely well done.
Let me tell you a bit about her. She’s a bubbly and lively person who likes to think everything positively. She’s friendly to those she meets and she will try to help/defend anyone that previously came to her aid *ehem, Midoriya ^3^* and people who are dear to her. Her humble background makes her incredibly excited or surprised over little things. The fun part is her quirk, called Zero Gravity. Her quirk gives her the power to manipulate gravity, such as making objects weightless or making objects float upon touching them. She can disable to quirk just by closing her fingers together. But there’s a limit, if she uses her quirk too much (around three tons) or if she makes herself float, she’ll suffer from nausea and may vomit. That’s what I do recall from the first season.

Upon getting to her skirt, I got led all over my left hand (the effects of the photo made the led lighter, but trust me, it was darker than that) and I was laughing on how I forgot to use my “God Usopp” as my protection. I should buy the gloves, anyone knows where to buy? >_<
You know me, I like to immediately finish and shade where I’ve drawn. If I don’t do it, I don’t have the confidence to continue elsewhere. I will think it’s not the same just like the original. That’s why you can see I’ve shaded everything and continue in another place.
The most time-consuming part of the drawing is the rug/fabric on her hair. I was afraid that I did a mistake or else I would have to do that part again. But no, I haven’t. YET.

Excitement comes when you’re so focused on a drawing that you know it will look amazing. As for me, I’m trying to get the hang of going digital for the past few days. I forgot how amazing it is! ~\(≧▽≦)/~
I don’t have a wacom tablet yet, it’s expensive to buy one. If I have enough money, I’ll buy it from my what-to-buy-for-an-artist-like-me list. So I used my own hands as a mouse and… well, I have a few cramps on my fingers. I’ve experienced going digital in the past but thanks to the program Sketchbook pro for giving big opportunities and it’s free! I tried on a bunch of techniques just for a start. I think I did alright hahaha.

Doing things “digitally” means that you are going to the next level of being an artist. Well, I would say it is but staying traditionally is still okay as well. We all have different taste. I really enjoy sticking drawing with a pencil and paper. I enjoy using different techniques when using a pencil and not to mention, the power of charcoal. I haven’t been using charcoal because they’re quite expensive and I haven’t used one since I last used it during the 4th grade. Thanks to my past art teachers that gave me hope as an artist. I still remember how they loved every piece I made for them. I’ve adored them dearly. (lol, for going off-topic there)
Anyways, the mangaka of the famous anime/manga Boku no Hero Academia artwork never fails to create great characters and design. Also, One Piece ofc. Their artwork made me so passionate on drawing and made me try their art style. What I like about artists is that they always have a style. A style that represents their artwork. psst, I don’t one yet. But yes, their style is them. It shows what they like and the way they design. It’s just… them.
My sketchbook is halfway finishing and I wanted to make all of the drawings that I’ve done until now be unique and memorable. This is a new drawing that I’m currently doing and I hope it will fit because like I said, I like to make things big ^ω^
Do you guys like to draw on both sides of the page or only one side?
There’s just so many One Piece characters I have drawn over the past year to practice on my drawing skills. I’ve made a goal to draw each of the characters when I just made it through to the episode where it showed Luffy’s past which included his brothers, Sabo and Ace. What was heart-touching is when Dadan showed affection toward them at the end when they wanted to go on their separate ways to become a pirate. Ace left, Sabo left… then Luffy. And yes, I cried. Dadan is a great “mom” (well, technically a foster mother) after a few episodes because in the beginning she didn’t care about what they do but she had to take care of them due to Garp, Luffy’s grandfather. That’s enough storytime, lol… I would like to talk more about it because it was a touching past but let’s leave it that for now.
I made a collage at first since I believe these are just supporting characters and most of them don’t get the credit they deserve. Firstly, I drew Ivankov and Traflagar Law (my bae) on one side of the page. Why Ivankov? He’s an amazing character! He saved Luffy from all of the poison that he took from Magellan with his devil fruit. Not to mention, he’s strong and can change people’s gender hahaha 🤣 He reminds me of some kind of rockstar with all the makeup on his face. For Law, who doesn’t want to draw him? He’s the most handsome-est surgeon in the whole wide world. It was like love at first sight for me. When he started saying “Roooooooooooooom… Shambles…” it hit my kokoro (japanese word for heart) really hard! The two-year skip made him more handsome, god bless Eiichiro Oda-senpai :’3

On the right side of the page, I drew three extra supporting characters which are Dadan, Doflamingo and Jinbei. To be honest, I didn’t know who was Doflamingo in the first place because I was still at Luffy’s past at the time. I know that he firstly appeared at the war but he looked like some kind of annoying guy with his tongue sticking out but when he appeared again at the Dressrosa arc… he’s the best villain, yup. Since I didn’t get to know him well but I just chose his tongue sticking out because it reminded me of how I saw him at first sight haha. There weren’t many good pictures of Dadan so I had to do it on my own. I chose when she was crying when one of the brothers were leaving. Like I said, best foster mom in the world. Next is Jimbei. Knowing him was cool because during the war, Ace trusted him. But when Ace died, Jimbei was the one always helping Luffy get into safety due to the shock he received after knowing Ace died right in front of his arms. It was such a heartbreaking moment for the world. But now, Jimbei is back in the Whole Cake Island arc and he’s pretty much going to join the StrawHat Pirates, I just know it.
Next page, I drew Whitebeard. Now this was horribly drawn. I will re-draw him again so there’s no need to show you all, lol. Whitebeard has the most powerful devil fruit (well, maybe after Blackbeard’s) which he is able to make rumbling vibrations just like an earthquake in any place he desires. Quite powerful, don’t you think? He was killed during the war, RIP Pops. ((´д｀)) The next side, I drew Shanks. There’s a lot to talk about how powerful he is; he is one of the four emperors and everyone is afraid of him. He exceeds so much on his powers, it’s like he advanced his haki(s). Haki; is a mysterious power that is found in every living being in the world. It is not that different from the typical senses. However, most people do not notice it or fail to awaken it. Broadly speaking, there are two types of Haki available to everyone, given the proper training; however, there is a third type that only a certain group of “chosen ones” are said to possess. — He stopped the war just by walking in. He’s handsome. He’s compassionate towards his crew. He takes his time as he and his crew travels the world because I believe he knows what’s in Raftel, the last island and about One Piece. So, he’s taking his sweeeeeeeet time. Cool guy he is.
Also, I’ve drawn the moment where Shanks and Marco visit the grave of Whitebeard and Ace… but still this piece haven’t been touched for months but I can show you the progress, hehe ^
Next up, I drew two pages on Boa Hancock. She’s a beautiful empress and she has a huge crush on Luffy. Her devil fruit power is powerful as well. She has some kind of “love” power which can make people turn to stone. Quite convenient if anyone comes to attack her due to her beauty. Plus, she’s taken by Luffy hahaha.

After that, I drew #2, #3 and Buggy the Clown! They are a favorite. These trios is what made this series funny and fun to watch. #2 did a huge sacrifice just to let Luffy and the others escape from Impel Down. I hope I’ll see him in the near future, no news so far how he’s doing. #3, in the other hand, helped Luffy even though he didn’t intend to but he did anyways. His devil fruit power is quite helpful and he did save Ace from his execution by wearing the uniforms for the executioners. Lastly, Buggy the Clown has made a huge impact in his take. His power is quite useful as well due to not getting sliced from a weapon and such, and I can’t believe he has made it from the beginning to where today’s episode it’s at. What a legend for his useless devil fruit hahahaha ✨ (forgot to take a pic of Buggy, oops… even though he’s a favorite)

Next page, I drew Rayleigh. What a man I would say. He teared up when Luffy set his journey after the timeskip. He helped Luffy train his Haki and unleashing Gear Fourth for 8 months, I believe. He was a big help to him.
Want to know what’s my faaaaavorite arc in One Piece? Let me just say that is when Sogeking shows up ^ hehehe// This arc was just a masterpiece. Water 7; there’s where it took place. This had so many episodes but worth to watch. The StrawHat Pirates lost one of their favorite ship, Going Merry… it was emotional. Usopp went through a lot of hardships toward his ship because it won’t be able to sail any longer. They had many adventures together and it’s sad that they just had to stop sailing due to its condition. But luckily, they were able to get a newer ship called “Thousand Sunny”, which includes Going Merry’s mascot in a little ship they have on the ‘Thousand Sunny’ which was cute. Robin had to face CP9 that made her turn back on the StrawHat Pirates but of course, they know she wouldn’t just leave without saying goodbye. And there, they gained back Robin and got a new nakama (japanese word for friend) named Franky who will be their shipwright on their journey.

Another great arc is ‘Thriller Bark’, another place where they got another nakama named Brook. His past was really depressing to hear. I had to draw the moment when they all sang ‘Binks’s Sake’ and Brook is on the piano with Luffy. That was a beautiful and touching moment. Plus, I didn’t use a ruler in the making of this drawing. I’m able to make straight lines on my own. I feel proud of myself, lol.

Next up, ADMIRALS! One Piece wouldn’t be so cool without these cool admirals that wants to take down all the pirates. I drew Aojiki, Garp, Magma-man that I hate, very cool blind-guy, the power of light drunk guy, cute Tashigi and Smoker-san.
When I came across the ‘Dressrosa’ arc, I was really happy that Luffy reunited with his other brother, Sabo and that Law will join the StrawHat Pirates for a few arcs. I had to combine a bunch of stuff into two pages so that I will remember this arc… and this is what I came up with.

Added in a drawing from the manga where he unleashed his Fourth Gear during this arc. As you may know, Luffy is powerful but not that powerful. I did make a video on my youtube channel just me shading and adding details this and there. You may check it out here!
Moving on, I was at the part where we get to know a little more on Law’s past by Doflamingo… and Corazon. I understood how Law felt on wanting to kill himself due to his condition on some kind of lead virus from his hometown. Sad to say that his parents and little sister died from this tragic because people thought this virus will be deadly and will spread. These doctors are just crap, they aren’t really doctors if they just kept screaming that this virus will not be cured. What I love about Law is that during the Dressrosa arc, he wore a long coat that has the name ‘Corazon’ on the back. As you all should know, Corazon is Doflamingo’s brother and of course, they were close but due to Doffy knowing that Corazon is helping out Law a lot because he has the initial ‘D’. Yes, the will of D… this legacy will keep going strong. There are other people that have the ‘D’ on their names but we still don’t know the truth behind this. We will find out more in the future. After Corazon knew about Law having the ‘D’ on his name, he would do anything to help him cure his disease in any way possible. The only possible thing is to steal a devil fruit that has the power of operation. Since his parents are doctors, he learned many things from them because they lived in a fancy hospital mansion. Corazon stole the devil fruit but got injured. He was able to keep moving so that Law would be safe. Corazon’s mission would be complete if Law would eat the devil fruit and he would get off the island. Doflamingo and his gang knew Corazon shouldn’t be trusted and killed him after Corozon hid Law and ate the devil fruit. I started my year crying in this dreadful past of Law. Law had to keep going forward and had to live. // He became a captain of the ‘Heart Pirates’ and this is where he started his journey to obtain One Piece. His nakama’s on the ship are all nice but of course, Bepo is the cutest of all and I had to draw it… and here is the result!

Today, I thought I could tell you a drawing progress blog on one of my favorite villain from the anime series of ‘My Hero Academia’ which is Dabi. In the anime, he has made his appearance at the end of season two and made way through season three, yuuuus! He’s good-looking but he has his limit if he gets damaged too much. I haven’t caught on watching it even though there were a bunch… I mean a BUNCH of spoilers that I did saw a bit from instagram. I had to take a peek of course and I saw lots of happened pretty quickly. I’m looking forward to binge watch it once Ramadan is over.
So, here’s a drawing progress post on my drawing of Dabi ✨
A closer look on the wip of Dabi
Let’s talk about his appearance first. He has like this eye-catching patchwork face detailed with large sections of skin that are purple and deeply wrinkled. Around his patch of skin and other parts of his body looks as if it was stapled or stitched together. It’s kinda creepy but looks detailed pretty nicely. More like a piece of art. He has several piercings on his ears and some on his nostrils. His mouth is like stapled making him grin most of the time. He likes to chuckle. (^ワ^＝)
So, everyone needs superpowers right? Well, in this anime they call it ‘quirk’ and quirk is a special, superhuman ability an individual can possess. Quirks are generally unique to their user, and are classified in multiple categories. And for Dabi, I’m not sure what quirk he uses… it’s hard to tell. I can only find out from the manga but I’m sticking with the anime, hehe.
Like I’ve said, his face is highly detailed and it was simple to draw it out… to me. It took me 50 minutes to be exact. After the face, I make my way to his ear, I didn’t put much effort on the ear piercing because I’ll be doing that later. I work my way down to his neck and then his hair. I want to check if the hair will work perfectly on the eyes I’ve drawn. Once I’m satisfied on how it looks, I go for the details right away. I’m that type of person. I don’t normally just sketch it all out. I just go for it.
She finished quicker than me.
Since my sister was near me at my desk, I asked her if she would like to draw Dabi with me even though I had a head start. She said yes, and drew while laughing. I was just starting to do his hands and when I was not even close to finishing, my sister said ‘DONE!’ and I told her, that was fast.
It took her 15 minutes.
And look, she did it close to perfect! Better than me tbh hahahaha

After that competition, I continued on finishing his hair and adding details as I go. It looks great so far, right?

So far so good. Adding more in to the details by using a 2B pencil does the trick. I sometimes use 3B for the hair because dark hair is in need of a darker shade. But since I don’t have a 3B pencil, I’m sticking with 2B.

As you can see, it’s close to finishing! I wanted to take a break and ate strawberry yogurt to get my energy filled up. I continued by sketching a bit on his coat. You need that shadow to make it more unique. And yes, I used a 2B pencil for this.

Next portrait that I also did last year was Rap Monster.
This is by far my favorite portrait I’ve done from the other members. (I did J-Hope, Jimin, Suga and Jin but I didn’t like how it turned out so…) I took a week to finish this piece because I wanted to make this perfect and highly alike as possible. The concept of this album which is ‘Never Walk Alone’ they made was really breathtaking. The photos that they took were just astonishingly amusing to see. Also, the songs. It works perfectly well, to be honest. And since that they dropped a new album just a few days ago called ‘Love Yourself: Tear’ it’s going to be amazing for the ARMY fans, lol.
ps. I just know these things because my sister talks about them okay?
But ofc, there were some things that I were positioned terribly on.

Maybe the ear too? hahahahaha And that’s basically what I believe are not positioned well or drawn wrongly. But overall, I would give this portrait a 9/10, as an artist… I don’t have to be criticized by people on how it’s not correctly positioned/what’s wrong in the drawing. I really like it. No, I love it. I supposedly believe this is my best work than the others I’ve drawn. I love the hand and the face but in a matter of fact, I love everything I drew here.// Thank you for reading and I hope it’ll inspire for you all to draw because art is all about having fun and fun is when you’re happy drawing something that you believe you can do ❤

After believing I did an awesome job on V, I thought I could continue on with another member from BTS. And you can already tell who it is from the title and the pictures that are displayed. (ﾉ･ｪ･)ﾉ
It all started when I asked a couple of my friends what should I draw next because as you can tell, I had no clue what to draw. One of them said “Pls, draw me.” Another said, “Draw me pls, I look really cute on my profile picture.” I was like, this doesn’t give me any motivation to draw you. So, I declined their offer. But out of nowhere, I did wrote a post for the first 5 people, I’ll draw whatever they like. So, 5 people liked and I had to draw them anything they desired. It was hell for me to be honest. (;﹏;) I tried to endure it as possible because it was my fault to make this terrible decision. Now, I won’t be doing that anymore. (oT-T)尸~~ (I surrender)
YOSH. Let’s get on to the drawing process of Jungkook. This was highly requested from a friend of mine in Malaysia. She’s someone that listens to me when I’m having a mental breakdown. You should always have a friend who can always give advices. Those friends are a keeper. She is one huge fan of BTS… just like my sister. My friend has a huge crush on Jungkook, this why I’m drawing him. Drawing out Jungkook started out difficult because of the eyes and nose (and later on, the mouth… my weakness).

You can see that I’ve sketched out his mouth already but still, when I added in all of the details it just wasn’t right.
To this day, I still haven’t achieved to draw his mouth. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
I think his nose is not correctly placed. But I think I did a good job huhu.
Drawing out Jungkook was fun, despite that I didn’t get a chance to do his mouth. I had fun doing the details of his fuzzy sweater and the eyes. Oh yeah, I did happened to have trouble with his eyes, haha. Oh well, it looks alright. And I bet you’re all thinking… why are his ears a bit weird? And yes, I can see that now when I took that picture in the past. I won’t be fixing it anytime soon but I just wanted to show you the pressure I faced and the process when I drew him. ps. I didn’t have a desk at the time. So I did this on my bed if you’re all wondering and yes, I did have back pain for leaning too much. I was just too focused on drawing it perfectly. Life as an artist, I would say.
Starting to self-learn on how to draw portraits is pretty simple but very time consuming. Sketching out the portrait was difficult for me because I don’t normally sketch it out, I just start immediately on the eyes and work my way. But now, I’ve been using other techniques on how to make my way to the finish line. Here’s how:
Since I knew BTS from my sister and knowing how aesthetic their photos are, I thought I could start with my favorite which is of course, Taehyung a.k.a V. The process for this was nerve-wrecking for me because it’s been a long time since I last did portraits on a daily basis. I chose a portrait that contained closed eyes as a start and thought it was simply easy. But in a matter of fact, it was. Then I start my way down to the nose. The trick is to blemish/shade on to the nose to make it realistic. You may sketch it out gently to make sure it’s perfect before shading in. Next, I would continue on with the mouth/lips but I’m terrible at it. I kept on trying and still… it hasn’t been perfect-o. Which is why I do the hair and do the shading around his face and move on to the next day to do his mouth. I would sometimes leave the mouth empty until I’m ready. Yup, that’s me.
Once the hair is all done, I like to go to the plushie he’s holding because it’s near him and whatever is near him, I do it. It’s like connecting the dots or piece by piece. The plushie of Eevee is easily done, just by shading and drawing it out. After finishing up on the plushie, you guys should know what’s next; it’s his hands.
For his hands, remember his hand is not straight, it’s more like it’s been slanted a little. Make sure that his hand gesture is just right. After doing that, go straight to shading and make it realistic by using a 0.5 led mechanical pencil. If you guys didn’t know, I’ve been using a 0.5 in all of my drawings. Well, only just shading out the dark spots I used a 6B. I don’t change to another pencil because… I’m lazy and I don’t have all the pencils, lol. Next up, the neck. Like I said, shading is important. And finally, the shirt.
Do keep in mind that this is my first portrait after a long time. I haven’t really put much effort doing it because I didn’t have any spare time. You can tell from the lips, it’s not put into much effort. I have many other portraits from my BTS collection that I would love to share. So, stay tuned for those in the future. Hope you have learned a thing or two.
To start, I thought showing you all my drawing of CharlotteKatakuri from One Piece. I’ve been a big fan of the works of Eiichiro Oda of One Piece when I started to watch the anime like 3 years ago. As you may know, it is the Whole Cake Island arc and so far, things are going in a slow pace but it’s going really well.
the process.
I’ve started out drawing Katakuri when he first revealed himself with his awesome jelly bean pistol attack. His appearance is what made everyone shooked and his bounty. His appearance is extremely tall, large, and muscular with short spiky crimson hair and two symmetric scars on both sides of his face. He is currently the main antagonist of his arc, I believe. His haki is what made me surprised because he can see the future for a few seconds and know every move what an enemy makes and he’s very strong. I don’t think Luffy will be able to defeat him but will manage somehow to make his way through him in 20 full episodes. (hahaha) His bounty is high but that doesn’t judge on how well-fought he is.
After almost finishing his body and details on his shirt and stuff, I tried to find the full page of this specific drawing and it was of course from the manga itself. It was easy to find and I drew it immediately. I like the style of his outfit, tattoo and the belts he wears. The belts reminded of Squall from Final Fantasy VIII for me. Also, the featherly jacket.
